Event Description

Good people of the Realms, on the 9th day of the 4th month of 1022 we’d like to invite you all to Clontarf Castle! The casino will be opening its doors and it’s a wonderful chance for all of us to sweep out the winter and enjoy one another’s company as we relax and play games together. Casino owners from across the Realms have collaborated along with the Gambler’s Guild to put this day together and we would be overjoyed if all of you partook in our hospitality.

Of course, as is normal at a casino, all are welcome to bring their gold and wager it at our various table games in hopes of hitting it big and walking away wealthy! But there is far more than that available for entertainment on this day.

Most important to note is that you do not need to use your own gold to spend the whole day gambling! Because this event has a particular emphasis on teaching newer players how to play games of chance, everyone will have access to special free tokens that can be gambled with instead of using gold. These tokens will be available when you arrive and there will be ways to earn more of them throughout the day as well. At the end of the day whatever tokens you have been able to win will be converted into tickets for you to use in an auction for fabulous prizes!
paid pre-regs will also get extra tokens! reg early reg often.

When you have gambled your gold for the day, and you wish to cash out. A brand new never seen before coin will be available in a very limited number. this coin will be valued at 10 gold and will be unique to this event. it will be backed by both Clontarf Casino (Blackwood) and Rhiassa.

Gambling at casino games is of course a fun way to spend the day but there will be lots of other things to do as well. A Stacked Deck poker tournament will take place, but there will also be a newbie poker tournament which will be free to participate in and specifically be used as a way to teach the many facets of such a nuanced game. There will be a smattering of different table game, board game, and card game tournaments throughout the day as well.

Delicious commestibles will be served throughout the day, prepared by Lady Kyomi. The normal Brown and Red will be available. We will be providing disposable cups and such so you will not need to bring your own.

When they arrive, many will find themselves in a whirlwind of magical change. It is not necessary to make those changes before you start interacting with others. Please do not partake of magic before you have gotten a chance to make sure your magic is correct. (We expect to have quite a few people redoing spell books due to the changes to the Omnibus this year. We are not requiring you to check in your magic before you start playing, just before you cast any magic, and before you leave for the day.)

We will be honored to have the Rhissia Cub Care present to providing some content for the wee bits that may or may not be ready to gamble. Question can be directed to Isla. (Jennifer Johnson Gallagher)

When you arrive, you will receive a few things; Some gambling tokens, and two different raffle ticket. The first and most common will be for the variety of prizes we have for the end of the day. You will also be able to win these tickets by playing games, and winning tournaments throughout the day. The other will be exactly one per person. both tickets are not stealable but private deals can be made. The special ticket will be for a magical cloak that will be on display. With only one ticket per person chaos and chance will determine who will bring this home.

During this event we will be hosting a fundraiser to help bring relief to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. A limited number of 25-gold coins will be available for cash purchase at $10 each, including the recently minted extra large Leviathan coin and a new version of the Blackwood 25 piece that was not scheduled to be released for a few years. Who ever donates the most will also get a dragon pouch to put the gold in. 100% of the money from these gold sales will be matched by the event and the total donated to Save the Children’s Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund. Details about the fund can be found here: https://tinyurl.com/5cn7hkht
