Event Description

A strange breeze has blown through the ancient groves. The forest itself has begun to stir in a way it has not done in millennia. In the night while the village sleeps, the ground rumbles as an old and malevolent neighbor scurries from their mounds and a long forgotten corruption is felt running deep beneath the roots. From the villages to the castles, seers' heads' pound in agony as the same intrepid frequency domineers their visions.

As more animals flee their dens, and the forest's residents begin to stretch their limbs, the phantasms become more and more clear. A shimmering figure speaks a foreboding warning that echoes in tunnels untouched by man. Wriggling in the darkness, through villages, forests, castles and wasteland something rotten through our land treads. Over tundra, cities and grassy plains a discrete and powerful force moves by night leaving ash, plague and rot in their wake.

Mova, The Mother Tree, has cried out to all her children, for she knows all, and she knows it is her that this foul presence hunts. She is ours to protect, and the Grove of Eroewan would see itself lain to waste before they let their mother be torn asunder. Strong as we are, we cannot withstand the tides of evil alone.

Blackwood calls for aide. To its Provinces, To its Allies and to any warrior brave enough to stand against the horrors to come. We cannot assure you'll live, or even that we'll win this battle, but we can assure that if we do nothing, Eroewan will not be the only victim. Stand with us now against the deep unknown. We are the last and only front. Godspeed.

Features:

Open World Questing- Explore the sleepy town of Kalamarar's Vale as ancient protectors rise to defend the forests of Eroewan from mysterious invaders. Friday evening and Saturday will feature open world content to explore and prepare for the upcoming battle later in the evening. Gather supplies, prove yourself worthy to the forests' defenders and develop strategies to achieve victory and uncover long lost secrets.

The War Board- Kalamarar's Vale is but one of the towns under attack, so it is up to you to plan the defense of Eroewan. We are introducing the War Board for this event to represent the greater conflict occurring in the region. Players will help recruit troops during the day to help defend Eroewan during the night. The system will operate similar to war-games like Warhammer 40k, though the rules are simplified that even those not familiar with the genre should be able to participate.

New Campaign- This event is the first in a series that will span the next few years. Ancient mysteries will be revealed, forgotten stories will be uncovered and somethings that should remain forgotten will be uncovered. We hope to incorporate player actions into the greater narrative and aim to accommodate many different styles of play. We hope to tell many satisfying story arcs!

Schedule

For people wishing to schedule when to take their NPC shifts or who would like to know the approximate schedule, here is a breakdown of the rough schedule:

Friday Night: Light open world content, exposition of the current situation, role-play

Saturday Day: Open world content (Note; We do plan to start content at 11AM)

Saturday Evening: Open world night battle, War board and small squad combat

Sunday: Dungeon crawl, role-play denouement

Expectations

The TWEU staff hopes to foster a community of trust and acceptance that players may feel safe to engage in satisfying role-play. We are implementing some new mechanics to verify consent and allow players to pull away from scenes they may not feel comfortable participating in and we are trusting players to respect these boundaries. Staff is also committed to player safety and will always have a EH at the NPC station if a player needs to talk to someone or an OOC space to decompress. We heartily encourage all players to utilize these new mechanics to facilitate trust amongst players and achieve a more satisfying event. The main plot does include themes of cosmic horror, dread and some mature themes, so please contact any EH if you have questions or concerns.
The TWEU Staff is also dedicated to putting high quality content for a multitude of different player types. We have varied combat encounters, mysteries and puzzles to solve, and both and light and heavy role-play opportunities for all. We are open to feedback and reward all players who leave a review with any feedback that is constructive for us to improve upon in the future. While open world events may not offer the streamlined content experience many linear questing events provide, please inform any EH if while at the event you are having trouble finding something with which to participate, as we will gladly try to point you in the right direction.

Other Notes

Please be sure to register any food allergies, as we plan to provide dinner on Saturday night with light snack provided throughout the weekend. On the note of food and drinks, throughout the weekend we ask that you bring your own IC reusable drinking vessels, utensils and plates/ bowls. (We will only have a limited supply of OOC disposables on site!)

Please remember that all trash/ recyclables MUST be sorted throughout the weekend!(Note; Plastic drinking caps are NOT recyclable!)

Some typical tenting areas will be marked off, please do not cross the taped off sections and set up camp as these section will be used for questing areas. All tenting areas will be clearly noted as such. If you are unsure if you can set up your tent in a certain area, please ask a staff member prior to setting up! (We would hate to have to ask you to move your camp after it is already established!)

Pre-regging now until 6/16 still gets you a perk at the door (Please note: only those that regged prior to the May 28th cut-off will receive personalized perks!)

We are still looking for NPC's, mostly combat, but there are still a few non-com roles available. Please reach out to any of the EH's listed if interested. We are also accepting part time NPC's for a discounted price, please reach out to Danielle Guimont if you are interested in this.

If you have any further questions please feel free to reach out to any of the staff listed!

Directions
Creathorne Farm
Grafton, NH

For GPS: 702 main St. Grafton, NH

google maps has it listed as: 771 Mascoma Valley Rd, Grafton, NH
03240

From the Southeast (middle and southern NH, and anywhere in MA
east of
Springfield):
you will want to take route 93 North through NH. From MA or CT
you
can get to route 93 from routes 495, 3, and 95(128). Take route 93
North through Nashua, Manchester, and Concord.
If you are coming from the Northeast, you want to take 93
South.

Get off at exit 17, just North of Concord. This should put you
on
route #4. Take route 4 West. Route 4 runs concurrent with routes 3
and
11 off and on during this trip, so make sure you stick with the
right
route! You should pass through several small towns, including
Boscawen, Andover, Franklin, and Danbury. It take about 30 minutes
to
get from route 93 to Grafton (it?s about 30.5 miles to the
border).
Creathorne is 3.5 miles from the Grafton/Danbury town line, on the
right. There is a white sign that says ?Little Creathorne Farm? in
plain sight. The farm house is a white color.
Pull in through the gate in the wooden fence (NOT the driveway)
and
park in the area defined by the logs, on either side of the small
hill
right there. I will have Creathorne, Black and gray shields near
the
road in the day light, and torches burning at the gate at night,
so
this site is usually very easy to find.

From the Northwest, VT, NY, or anywhere West of Springfield,
MA:
you?ll want to come into Grafton from the other direction. Take
route
91 (which runs up the NH/VT border) to 89S into Lebanon, NH. You?
ll be
getting off, at exit 17. This should put you on route 4. Take
route 4
East, passing through Enfield and Canaan, and into Grafton. It
takes
about 35 minutes to get from route 89 to Grafton (it?s about 20
miles
to the border). Creathorne is about 10-15 minutes from Canaan
center,
on the left.
