Welcome Campers!

I hope you are ready for some great activities here at Camp Despair at the lovely Redwater site! Make sure to pick up your introduction packet at the gate and leave all hope at home! Get ready to start your day with some Team Breaking Exercises. Are you excited to play some Deadly Dodgeball? How about going on an extra special scavenger hunt? And of course we have the best Arts and Crafts around. We will be singing songs around the pyre and enjoying delicious s’mores while bodies keep the fire going all night. The best part is you can earn super powerful merit badges to fill up your slightly used camp-issued sash. Badges will be awarded to those trying their best throughout the day or to whoever I want. I do make the rules after all!

I hope you are ready for an experience to remember! You never know what might happen. You could even become a demon if you play your cards right! Though if you aren’t a demon you will have something extra to worry about besides the bears. Just mind the myst when it rolls in and be back to your designated cabins for bunk time. We do have some strict policies and I would hate to lose any campers before the fun really gets going... like last time.

To aid contact tracing (and notifications if plans change), eveyone planning to attend must pre-register on RealmsNet. Please make sure your email address is up to date before registering.

Due to CDC guidelines for the State of Massachusetts and rising Covid-19 cases we are requiring everyone to wear a mask while indoors, this includes the kitchen/mess hall and bathrooms. Please bring a mask and if you forgot yours please ask the Reg-desk for one. To make this event safe for everyone there will be no eating/drinking inside the mess hall, we will have outdoor eating and drinking to the best of our abilities with an outdoor gazebo and pop up canopies.

A valid pre-reg must include a copy of your vaccination card sent to welcometocampdespair@gmail.com

All children 12 and under; additionally all unvaccinated players are not permitted to attend this event.

The EHs for this event will be enforcing a zero tolerance policy for attendees who fail to comply with event protocols or COVID-related standing policies.

If you would like to buy a camp shirt to comemorate the event, please send an additional $15 including the event fee, plus your shirt size (You may want to go one size larger than you wear in case it shrinks in the wash) in the notes of your pre-reg.

Please reach out to an Event Holder if you would like to play and your financial circumstances may prevent you from attending. By default, the event fee for any player who has played at three or fewer Realms events will be discounted to $15.

This is the old Sterling site under new management.

There is no potable water currently on-site. We will be providing some water, but be prepared to bring your own.

Carry-in, Carry-out. Do not litter and thoroughly check your camping area before you leave. All Garbage must be brought off site do not use the trash cans, all must be brought out with you.

Smoking is only allowed in the designated area in the parking lot, you must dispose of your trash in the proper receptacle and failure to do so may result in being asked to leave.

No open flames are allowed within any structure on the facility. No incendiary devices or fireworks are allowed. All open fires shall be within provided fire pits, attended at all times and completely extinguished whenever unattended.

No drinking of alcoholic beverages will be permitted on this site without expressed permission by site. Assume site is dry unless specified by the EH staff

Camping is allowed in designated areas only.

Parking is available against the wall near the entrance. Please do not leave your cars in your camp area.

No swimming in the pond.

NOISE IS TO BE KEPT TO A MINIMUM AFTER 10PM, the site is adjacent to a small residential area.

ALL TRASH MUST BE PICKED UP AND REMOVED. Failure to do so will likely result in the site owner refusing to rent to any LARP again.

Site must be completely clean by 3pm on Sunday.
