Event Description

The Huntress Guild presents the ninth annual Tournaments of Artemis!

It’s been such a long time since we all got to meet on the field for this event (or meet on the tourney field for any event, really). As this is, in some ways, a fresh start after an extended break, we are going to be shaking up the formula a bit this year. Traditionally, ToA has used a small-group tournament style. This year, we will instead be running war-maneuver style tournaments with much larger teams (likely only two teams). You will be sorted onto teams at the beginning of the event. To vary up the combat and encourage practice and education, there will also be opportunities for smaller squad battles and individual match-ups–-especially between Huntresses–-throughout the day. I’m hopeful that this change will give more people who want an opportunity to participate (since Huntresses no longer have to find enough supporters and non-Huntresses don’t have to search for a team to join ahead of time); and secondly, I’m also quite hopeful that this will encourage women in our community to take the lead in another form of combat and tournaments, helping to give them the skills, confidence, and experience to go into a summer of large-scale events feeling powerful.

Despite the format shake-up, the primary goal of this event will of course, as always, be to center women in combat in the Realms. The Huntresses on each team will get to take a central role in strategizing and leading their teams, and many of the tournaments will revolve around establishing crucial roles for them in combat. Furthermore, for the sake of encouraging combat, education, and trying new things, all Huntresses can choose to play a fighter for this one event. However, this is not required.

Please come out, participate or spectate, and support our Huntresses and women in combat in our community!

We will also be serving a late lunch/early dinner at this event, as well as providing light snacks throughout the day.
Everyone is strongly encouraged to pre-reg (though paid pre-reg is not required), and all Huntresses MUST pre-reg by Monday, April 25th so that we can plan tournaments accordingly around you.

Looking forward to seeing all my ladies (and everyone else too) on the tourney field!
