Event Description
The Huntress Guild presents the eleventh annual Tournaments of Artemis on June 8th!

Two team war-maneuver style tournaments will return this year (with some familiar experiences and a few new twists!). You will be sorted onto teams at the beginning of the event. Staff will do our best to make sure teams are equal in experience and size in order to make the tournaments fun for everyone. To vary up the combat and encourage practice and education, there will also be opportunities for smaller squad battles and individual match-ups–especially between Huntresses–throughout the day.

As always, our aim is to encourage women and nonbinary individuals in our community to take the lead in combat and tournaments, helping to give them the skills, confidence, and experience to go into other events feeling powerful. To insure this, we will work to promote an atmosphere of fun and friendly competition–one that promotes participants learning and trying out new things. The Huntresses on each team will get to take a central role in strategizing and leading their teams, and many of the tournaments will revolve around establishing crucial roles for them in combat. Furthermore, for the sake of encouraging said education and trying new things, all Huntresses can choose to play a fighter for this one event. However, this is not required to participate–there will absolutely be crucial roles for combat caster Huntresses as well.

Please come out, participate or spectate, and support our Huntresses and women in combat in our community! Tournament will include, among other content: the return of Stay in Your Lane and Dungeon Danger Dice, as well as the premier of new Teamwork Trials and Group Tarnisha’s Challenge Tournaments! Trivia! Non-com competitions! Killing Queens! Queens of Hills! Lots of Queen Content! Huntress Guild Induction Ceremony (very wholesome, minimum cult activity).

We will be serving a late lunch/early dinner at this event, as well as providing some snacks throughout the day.

Everyone is strongly encouraged to pre-reg (though paid pre-reg is not required), and all Huntresses MUST pre-reg by Tuesday, June 4th so that we can plan tournaments accordingly around you.

Looking forward to seeing all my ladies (and everyone else too) on the tourney field!

Event Wrap-up
I’m very happy to have another excellent Tournaments of Artemis on the books! I’d like to give a huge thanks first of all to our participating Huntresses: Evie/Sarah, Hedda/Anna, Rowan/Brooke, and Liselle/Maria. You all gave a remarkable performance–leading your teams and fighting with skill, honor, and persistence. Team Nature Related’s Liselle and Rowan excelled at clever strategizing and effectively directing and using their team’s significant fighting forces. Team Vaten’s Hedda and Evie shined at perseverance and valor–challenging as many knights and hustling to complete both as many side challenges as possible and taking center stage in the whole-team war maneuvers as well. Though the scores were close, in the end Team Nature Related won the day!

I would also like to give a HUGE thank you to our incredible staff, without whom this event could not have been possible. Kyle Yazinka for marshaling, providing invaluable advice to me throughout the day, and setting up the majority of the tournaments. Nate Carr for magic marshaling and writing some very fun regionals for us. Tucker Noyes for marshaling, helping set up tournaments, and running our trivia competition. Josh Learned, Greg Falconer, and Paul Tilton for helping marshal, set up, give advice, and help out wherever required (and Paul also for filming drone footage!) Lani Jones for planning the menu, getting ingredients, and working tirelessly to feed us delicious food throughout the day. And Jason Rosa and Neil Kusleika for helping out in the kitchen and providing crucial props and even more crucial advice throughout the day! I also want to give a bonus Huntress thank you to Emma Sherman who wanted to practice marshaling (at which she did an excellent job!) but was also completely willing to jump in and play, write certificates, and do anything else needed to help the event run smoothly.

What made this year stand out especially was having, for the first time, an amazing crew of Huntress Guilders to run the event with! So an extra huge thank you and spotlight of recognition to my fellow event-holders Hannah Boucher, Diana Learned, and Dani Lacasse. This event could not have been possible without any one of them! All of them crafted, all of them planned, and all of them brought exceptionally creative ideas to the table. I am beyond grateful to have them as my fellow guild comrades and friends. I look forward to continuing to promote the roles of women and nonbinary people in the Realms together with all of them.

Please leave a review or let me know what you’d like to see more of in future Tournaments of Artemis.
