Voraniss Questing V For Home and Country

Event Holders were Adam Blaisdell, Derek Booke, Renee Booke.

Event Description
IC Notes:

To the Allied Forces of the Realms,

The time we have all feared is upon us, and the hour grows dark as I pen these words. The forces of Edwyn Rainecourt lay siege to the lands of Rathkeale with renewed vigor, and the shores of Rockwood are bloodied with conflict.

Our scouts report columns of skeletal soldiers stretching for leagues surging out of Necron and moving with singular purpose to the east. They are accompanied by necromantic constructs and foul abominations that defy description. I implore you- gather your banners and muster your forces to Caelkirk for organization and deployment. The Lich’s atrocities demand a unified response.

Together, we will turn the tide and carve our victory by cunning, steel and will.

OOC Notes:

On Friday, April 25th, we will celebrate the return of Spring and a year of new beginnings. Cinnamon’s Tea Trove will be pulling out all the stops to make the evening one full of joy and merriment before you must all march off to war. The evening will feature our annual ritual of renewal, which all are invited to participate in, as well as Voraniss court, a smattering of strange Voranian pastimes and activities, and maybe some special visits from NPC’s wandering through. You’ll have to show up to find out!

Tavern fare will be available as normal for those of you that forgot your dinner beforehand, and potluck exchange is always encouraged.

Saturday questing will begin roughly around 11:00 AM and will run until dinner break (estimated at 6:00 PM), followed by a night quest. Be prepared for some war maneuvers!

Sunday will be event wrap-up and light questing giving players the opportunity to focus on base-building their holdings in Caelkirk and collect building materials etc. post battle.

This event is a damp site. We ask that for those who would like to drink that you drink responsibly. Anyone who has been drinking will not be permitted to go on the quest and will be asked to stay in camp.
Event Wrap-up
Hello everyone,

I want to take a moment to thank our amazing team and the volunteers who stepped up to help us make VQ5 a reality this weekend. None of this would have been possible without the tireless energy, creativity, and heart that you all brought to the table.

First, Tucker Noyes, Kyle Yazinka, and Nataliya Kostenko, thank you for acting as NPCs for us. You are true terrors of the sea, excellent bridge commanders, and formidable undead warriors.

Second, James F Murphy Jr- you jumped in to NPC for us all weekend without hesitation and we had a blast with you. You kept us smiling and ran with whatever last-minute changes we made. You busted your butt and it was very much appreciated. I hope you enjoyed the “Rumboli!”

To Jacob O'Leary and Anthony Quintana, you were superheroes of the weekend, from making props, wrangling NPC’s, fighting, and clean-up- I don’t think there was a single facet of this event that you didn’t help with.

To Chrysanta Morris & Nicholis Crowe- I cannot tell you how proud I am of all that you accomplished this weekend. You opened Cinnamon’s Tea Trove on a much larger scale than ever before with smiles, adorable decorations, and fun games. You were innovative, creative, and I could feel the warmth oozing from your establishment. You also jumped in to help us with costume changes, make-up, and brought such energy to every NPC you played.

To Bri Marie- Thank you so much for showing up to every meeting, helping us plan and adjust mechanics, organizing moves for the war map game, getting so many wonderful photos we will laugh about for years, and bringing such life to the NPC of Priscilla Stanwode.

Next, to our wonderful neighbors Joshua Bryant and Dot Bryant- thank you for keeping us fed, for creating meaningful rituals and communal moments that bring people around the campfire, and for being the logical half of my brain on Sunday when I was frogging.

To Matt Daviault, thank you for always being our rock and jumping in to marshall, handle spells, RP your variety of characters and NPCs, and help us with plotting doom.

Then, to the Bookes of the East- Darrin, Liz, and Lexi, thank you so, so much for doing our food shopping and deal hunting, printing so many pieces of the board for our war game, building props, monsters, helping with setup, and fighting for team Edwyn. We appreciate you immensely.

To everyone who helped with clean-up, and aided us in clearing trash off-site when our vehicles were packed- thank you millions! I know Ron Sanford, Eric Willisson, and Travis Wilcox were among you, and I'm sure I missed some other people who helped in this fashion, so I apologize. But it was still greatly appreciated.

Lastly, to our players, thank you for coming and spending your time with us this weekend. As this story grows, all of the roleplay, the planning, the ingenious boat and siege weapon building, and all the effort you put towards our plot means the world to us. We hope you had fun and greatly appreciate you rolling with the format of the event so we could create the feeling of epic battles to the best of our ability. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

-Renee, Derek, and Adam, on behalf of the VQ Team
