Event Description

Adventurers of the Realms,

Capitalizing on our success locating an entrance to caves we believe are connected to the Labyrinth that once housed the ancient Draconian civilization, my team of researchers have been overseeing the process of scouting, confirming and redeveloping maps that align with our discoveries from two years ago. We’ve been getting close, and believe we are on the verge of finding the outskirts of the great “Black City” mentioned in the recordings left by the draconians. Our scouting efforts have not been without some danger, but at this point we suspect that if we go any further we will start encountering dangers on the levels you have faced before, and we simply are not equipped to take that on ourselves. I once again call for your aid, to help us uncover the dangers hidden deep in their history.

Yours in Discovery,
Professor Mia

Rules Changes and Notes

Trappings of Civilization will not be active at this event. Knightly powers on the Trappings list will be active. If you have a knightly power that isn’t on the Trappings list, but would like to use it, message an EH before the event so we can discuss it.

Regionals will be announced at the event. Standard Chimeron Regionals will not be active.

Playtest Content:
We will be playtesting a few proposed rules changes from the past year:
Animal Companion Rework by Ian Perry
Masterwork Hammer Rework by Matthew Mueller
Playtest rules can be found at this link.

If you would like to use one or both of these rulesets, you MUST pre-reg your intent to do so. You may replace one of your spells in your spell build of an appropriate circle with the reworked Animal Companion or Masterwork Tool, following the rules in their respective playtest documents. You must have a written copy of the playtest material in a way you would include in your spell book, but it does not necessarily have to be written in your spellbook specifically.

We will be implementing a few rules to fix an infinite alchemy “glitch” that Zack discovered earlier this year:

  • When resetting a spell with Power Potion, it only resets one learning of a spell, not all learnings.
  • When resetting a spell that scales with the circle it is learned in (such as strange brew), the Power Potion used must be the circle of the spell slot it is learned in, NOT the base level of the spell.
  • If you learn Strange Brew with Manipulate Magic, you get alchemy points as if it was learned at the highest circle Manipulate Magic could have picked, and requires the appropriate circle Power Potion to reset. (e.g. if you have Manipulate Magic in 3rd circle and use it to get Strange Brew, Strange Brew is considered a second circle spell for that learning of Manipulate Magic.)
Other Notes

There will be an on-site dinner on Saturday and a dayboard for snacks throughout the weekend. Please pre-reg your dietary restrictions with the linked form by May 15th to ensure we can accommodate you in the meal plan. Send any questions regarding food to keotye@gmail.com. Menu specifics are TBD at this point, but should be announced before the event.

This event has a sliding scale payment system. $45 is the standard amount we need people to pay to cover site. Higher payments are for if you have a little extra you're willing to throw our way to help offset the costs of food and props. If the $45 cost is a deciding factor on your ability to attend, reach out to any of the EHs to see if we can work something out.
