Sanctuary Questing 13 Out of Time

February 07, 2026

Site was WPI - Worcester, MA.

Event Holder was Brianna Meisser.

Event Description
The Guardian of Time is dead. So is it’s Devourer. A sacrifice and a gamble. To go back in time before Warble died in order to save her while defeating her foe. With one very important question encompassing it all. How do you kill a being who exists outside of time?
Event Wrap-up
IC Wrapup:
"After a long fought battle, my foe has been defeated for all time, and I have been reunited with my family. While I was willing to sacrifice myself to keep you all safe, I also trusted you to save me and I'm glad I did. I have been privileged to live long enough to find people worth sacrificing for, and people who are too stubborn to let me do it. Sanctuary's time begins to heal, and should soon return to normal. Well. As normal as is possible for Sanctuary.

You all have my immense gratitude. And while usually Guardians prefer to speak with our aligned, you have all proven yourselves to be more than just aligned but my friends. You are welcome to visit me at my shrine, and I look forward and backward to many good conversations to come.
With gratitude,
Warble of Sanctuary
Guardian of Time"

OOC Wrapup;
Sanctuary Questing 13 is a wrap! This event was many months of work from so many people, and one that almost didn't happen in spite of that. It's no secret that my health hasn't been what I've hoped, between frequent hospitalizations and overall deterioration and malaise. Yet in spite of that I was privileged to be able to throw a wonderful event thanks to so much help. I'm going to start thanking people, please let me know if I miss anyone. I promise it's not intentional, there's just so many of you.

I want to start by thanking Sky R. When we proposed the idea of borrowing their old PC to help run a time travel event, they jumped on the opportunity with enthusiasm and care. It isn't an exaggeration to say that this event wouldn't have been possible without them. They marshaled, they did so much of the wonderful writing which made this event so immersive. They edited audio. And constantly asked "what can I take off your plate" which enabled me to run this event without burning out.

I'd also like to thank Justin T. He really stepped up this year, going from someone we sought encounter advice from to a core member of the event staff, attending meetings, crafting props, learning how to head NPC and so much more.

Speaking of head NPC. I want to thank Nate C. for agreeing to head NPC, and for making the correct choice to stay home and keep me safe when not feeling well. And give a huge thank you to Josh L. for stepping in last minute to fill that role. Combat balancing and NPC managing has always been a weakness of mine, and having people who I can trust to support me in it makes the entire event run so much smoother.

I also want to thank Adam B. for stepping in last minute to play our mini-boss when Nate wasn't able to make it.

For NPCs. I want to start with thanking Tim S. When I tapped him to play our BBEG, he did more than just fill a role. He embodied it, and continued to show up again and again above and beyond. From planning mechanics to helping with shopping trips, he made that role his own and the event run smoother.

As for our other NPCs, again please let me know if I forgot anyone. Thank you to Nataliya K. Kathy F. Max M., Diana L. Maria C. Craig B. Adam B. Tucker N. Neil K., Cal M. Keith C. Emma S. Tim M. Justin B-H. Jay W. David R. Chelsea P. Athena JT. and Rose W.

To our artists and prop makers: This event we really tried to step up our game on props and special effects, and I'm incredibly grateful for the help in doing so. Some special shout-outs.

Eric W. for making the wonderful custom hourglass website and a temporal echo. Alistair G. for creating audio for the rooms. Jay W. for drawing backdrops for the rooms. Justin T., Casper T., and Milo H, for the cool crypdinium swords. Justin B. for being willing to make Warbles shield even if the weather prevented it’s final form. Nataliya K. for being willing to step in and make whatever we needed and do shopping trip. Max M. for his help with the gear puzzle and running AV. Zack E. for helping provide both props and lore for an NPC we kidnapped. Alex T., Owen L., Eric S., and Nate C. for voice acting for Warbles Timeline. Everyone who submitted audio for the Bridge of Hope. As well as anyone who donated socks. And thank you to Kathy F., Ashenmark, Tim S., and SMAS for allowing us to borrow props.

Thank you to WPI and SMAS for letting us book the room, and especially to Max M. for dealing with all of the logistics that entailed.

Thank you to Zack E. for doing a full reading of the rules, and to both Justins and Adam B. for running weapons check. As well as Chelsea P. for running reg!

Thank you to Travis W. and Jerry P. for offering NPC drops and being really supportive of the event team.

Thank you to Derek B. and Renee B. for always being willing to let me confide in you for mechanics and prop ideas and any other help, and inspiring me to keep telling stories.

Thank you to everyone who offered without hesitation to help move stuff to and from site, setup and teardown, navigate people to the right place, and all the other little things that go into making an event like this such a smooth and happy experience.

And thank you to the players. For trusting us to tell your stories, for continuing to roll with things even when they're weird or unconventional, and for making these events such a great and welcoming environment for everyone involved.

Particular shout-out to the WPI students, who turned out in massive numbers and put in so much of their own preparation in advance. This enthusiasm and excitement for plot makes our events what they are.

I'm blessed to be able to throw for such a large audience, and the fact that in spite of being a newer storyteller every event I run is packed with both players and NPCs willing to support me is beyond humbling, and I am forever grateful.

Until next time,
Bri Meisser and Becky Baron
